Dear Writers,
Writing from a place of sadness and dire worry can be fruitful, even though it’s mighty hard. If you can’t find any light right now, it’s okay, and surely we can write about that too. Our writing is the safest place to be ourselves—necessary now more than ever. This is what we have as a community, and we need to feed our creativity in order to gather strength.
WRITING THROUGH DARK TIMES:
-Write about the smallest, most delicate signs of life and love, no matter how hard it is to see it.
-Write about the affection we feel for our dogs, our cats, our birds.
-Write about our memories of our earliest childhood friends, our parents, or a room that made us feel safe.
-Write about a new friendship between 2 people (or a human and an animal) who are stuck together in a difficult place.
NO MATTER WHAT, DON’T SHUT DOWN.
