An Upcoming Contest, and Rare Opportunity at Pokrass Prompts
Contest opens from August 5th-11th
Exciting news! Following my 2021 flash piece “Pastoral,” I’m happy to be working once again with the Phillips’ gallery and auction house editorial team on the relaunch of The Prompt, a flash fiction series inspired by works of art. Click on the link to read my Phillips’ interview about prompts, flash fiction, and more.
To kick off their new edition I’m opening submissions for the prompt contest here at Pokrass Prompts to paid subscribers only from Monday, August 5th through Sunday, August 11th, for 100-word (or shorter) stories in response to an image and prompt which will be posted here at Pokrass Prompts on Monday, August 5th.
Winner of the 100-word story contest will receive $100 USD, Second Place will receive $50 USD, and there will be a Third Place “Honorable Mention”. What it costs to submit your stories is a paid subscription to Pokrass Prompts. Each writer can submit a total of 2 stories.
Winning stories will be published on the beautiful Phillips’ website and read widely.
Check out previous prompt stories on the Phillips’ website here, and subscribe to the Phillips newsletter here.
Hi
I just subscribed to Pokrass Prompts but can’t see the prompt for the competition which ends 11th August. How do I find it?
Excited to have joined and looking forward to reading more flash fiction.
Excited about the contest—and equally so about that flash fiction piece you shared. I love it! It has just the right oddness, just the right pathos, just the right language. Thanks for sharing that! I had missed it when it was published.
